Some sectional sofas have two couches, perhaps one regular and one with recliners. Or a recliner sofa and a sleeper sofa. Regardless of the types of sofas, there is almost always a corner piece that joins the two sofas together to form one unit. The corner comes in two forms, either curved or at a 90 degree angle. The curved sectional sofas usually look more comfy, the curved corner helping to form a continuous line. The 90 degree corner looks more polished and modern.
The fabric of the sofa also plays a very important role in its selection. You have to decide whether your sofa will be used for formal occasions or will be used very regularly. Leather recliners can be great but may pinch your pockets slightly harder. If you have kids, the sofa will get some roughing up frequently. Children tend to drop food, juices and other junk on the sofa. The sofa, in such cases must be very simple and practical. It may have busy prints to hide the stains and dark colors to keep people from noticing the little "accidents", as the best detergents and dry cleaners may not be able to remove them completely.
Go for furniture that has been doweled, screwed or glued together. Try as much as possible to avoid furniture that has been simply stapled; they will not last you a long time. Normally, frames that have been made with oak woods or maple will not be stapled. Also g for a frame that has corner blocks.
