Numerous people these days use 'sofa' and 'couch' interchangeably, but there exist some fundamental differences between them. In the olden days, for starters, couches were used to lie down upon, whereas sofas were only meant to seat people. Even today, couches are designed without armrests and seat fewer people, as against sofas which have armrests and are bigger.
If you have a small living room, a small couch seems the practical choice, while a bigger living room will allow you to experiment with larger sofa styles. Although plush suede would go well with almost any interior, you can create a style statement with bold prints in microfibers. All you got to ensure is that the sofa serves its practical purpose in the long run.
To pair bright colors with neutrals is the thumb rule of any form of styling, be it for your clothes or for your home. A beige, tan, gray, white, or ivory-colored sofa is always going to go well with any kind of dcor. And this is its biggest benefit. A seemingly dull space can be transformed simply by throwing in a couple of colored cushions on the sofa, a throw on the back, or with a bright vase next to it. On the other hand, a very vibrant space with a colored wall can be toned down with the placement of a neutral-colored sofa. So, whether you have blue walls or taupe, sage green or burnt orange, these colors are likely to fit in anywhere.
You can change curtains or blinds to give a new and fresh look to your room, without spending lots of money. You could use net curtains along with standard curtains to providing a completely new and modern look to your room. The second option which you have is to use blinds instead of curtains which will also enhance the overall look of your room.
